Congratulations On Your New Business

How exciting, you have a brand new business and it's up and running. You and your business are about to embark on a new journey, but before we take off, it's important to make sure your Google My Business listing has been set up. With GMB all set up, it will boost your SEO and make your business easier to find online as well. Although it can be very intimidating to even begin setting up your GMB listing, this will help your potential customers become informed on the product or services your business offers, and it'll also make it easier to find your location. Still somewhat confused, no problem, this blog will go over simple Google My Business tips to help you get started.

1.Be Honest And Detailed About Your Listing

A common mistake business owners often make is incorrect business hours. Personally speaking, there have been times where I've googled a business, saw that the hours implied that they were open, drove all the way there just to find that the business is closed. This irritating issue could have easily been avoided by updating the business hours on GMB. Doing this will ensure that your business information is correct on both google maps and search results. When setting up your GMB you are required to provide your business name, Phone number, and address with the option to add additional information. Use this option to provide as many details about your business as you can, such as services offered, payment methods, business industry ect. Keep in mind, the more, the merrier.

2.Imagery Attracts

Humans in general tend to be more stimulated by content with a picture rather than content with no picture. The same concept applies to your GMB page. While your business description is important, having pictures allows potential customers the opportunity to visualize their experience with your business and determine whether it's a good fit for their needs. Visualizing gives them a level of  predictability that makes engagement with your business more likely.

3.Study Your Competitors

Researching and studying who your competition is can boost your GMB ranking. You're then able to know what they're offering, how their products and services compare with yours and their marketing strategies . The goal is to take advantage of your competitors weakness, and use it to perfect your own business performance.

4.Acknowledge Your Customers Reviews

When it comes to ranking for local search, reviews are one of the most important factors  to consider. Responding to reviews also shows that your business values their customers and the feedback that you're receiving about your business. These,“Five Star” reviews, will then improve your business visibility and increase the chances of having potential customers visiting your location.

Creating a Google My Business can be somewhat an intimidating process, and on the journey to get your business noticed and customers flowing in can be alot to figure out when first getting started. Hopefully these basic starter tips can relieve some stress and allow you to focus clearly on the growth of your business.
